A tech-obsessed property in Silicon Valley.
As travelers become more and more plugged in, digital detoxes are increasingly cropping up as an in-demand amenity. Not so at the Epiphany, where the house motto is “Recharge and stay wired.” It’s a prudent message given the hotel’s location in downtown Palo Alto, where it rubs shoulders with some of the fastest-growing tech start-ups, social media brands, and innovation leaders like Tesla. The outpost from San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre embodies its surroundings with a specialized tech concierge, in-room Revo internet radios, and partnerships with Jawbone and Master & Dynamic. In the 86 rooms, New York-based design firm McCartan blended mod turquoise ergonomic chairs with refined wooden tables and tree-graphic wallpaper. Business and meeting spaces showcase adventurous interiors by world-class firm IDEO, who also crafted the mezzanine’s "Project Edison," an interactive light installation that links up to movement-controlling data streams. The street-level Lure and Till restaurant is an ambassador for the Bay Area’s farm-to-table ethos, enlisting local foragers and farmers to source ingredients for the quintessentially California menu that lets fresh ingredients shine. Think off-the-boat seafood, free range chicken, and a colorful medley of produce. Who knows, the next Steve Jobs or Elon Musk might just be sitting at the next table.
